Very delighted to have been booked to deliver a series of workshops for ‘Showcase Smoothie’
The group is all male, mostly of Black/Caribbean heritage. Lovely guys.
It’s been amazing to listen to a room of all men singing, some for the first time in public. Not a bum note in sight!
We’re learning and singing Gospel / Spiritual / Blues Songs, working on vocal technique and delivery through breath control. We’ve started adapting lyrics and writing new arrangements.
Showcase Smoothie is a major new literature and music based project led by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
It aims to assist in Mental Health and Wellbeing through the Arts
