Make a Joyful Noise: Intsholo Yovuyo is the result of three months’ collaboration with leading South African singer Luyanda Jezile. Having performed in The Lion King in London’s West End for nine years, Luyanda now leads the London African Gospel Choir. He has performed for Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, and sung with Annie Lennox, Hugh Masekela, Florence and the Machine, Lesley Garrett and Stevie Wonder.
What the 75 Invisibles do best is to deliver the massive acapella harmonies of Southern Africa alongside African-American Gospel and soul music, all sung in the richly-textured harmony that is their trademark sound.
Choir Invisible is the only choir in the world to bear Desmond Tutu’s name. The choir supports the Archbishop’s humanitarian work around the world by raising funds and by performing songs of hope in the African spirit of Ubuntu.
